What is Darcrus?

Darcrus is both the name of the total project as well as the first token of the project. Initially, 10% of net profits of Sigwo Technologies were used to buy back and burn Darcrus from the market, but due to regulatory changes the buyback and burn program was suspended indefinitely.
Now, the Darcrus token has acquired a new use case: developers that want to build a decentralized application on top of the private Jupiter blockchain, without the help of and subscription to Sigwo Technologies, only can get Jupiter tokens by exchanging DAR to JUP via our payment swap server.

Darcrus (DAR) can be traded at Waves’ DEX within the Waves Lite Client.

What is the Darcrus ecosystem in a nutshell?

The Darcrus ICO raised the funds to pay for development services provided by Sigwo Technologies. The Darcrus token is needed by developers that want to make their own decentralized application without the help of Sigwo Technologies.

Sigwo Technologies’ core product is Jupiter, a private blockchain for its clients. There are various fully customizable software packages available for different needs to protect, encrypt and store information on the Jupiter blockchain. However, because it is a private blockchain people could accuse insiders to have modified the data.

This is where Mercury shows up. This publicly available Waves asset is used to connect the private chain with the public Waves blockchain. Every block hash of the private blockchain is automatically timestamped to the public one, with Mercury used as transaction fee. This timestamp is used as the public proof nobody modified the data. The power of the Mercury token is its cross-chain capability and the dual-chain provenance for the products being sold. This all results in a continuous circle, because Sigwo Technologies needs to buy Mercury for its clients for the dual-chain provenance, miners accept this as fee and may sell it on the market again. Furthermore, Mercury can be used as transaction fee in the Waves wallet and an encrypted messaging system called Metis will also be powered by Mercury.

What was Darcrus ICO price?

Darcrus average ICO price was 2777 sat.

Darcrus ICO was held from December 21st - December 28th 2016. Of the 50,000,000 total Darcrus tokens, 42,000,000 were available for ICO, by the following scheme:

  • Early bird: 2500 satoshi each, 10,000,000 available (40,000 DAR per BTC)
  • Phase 1: 4000 satoshi each, 13,125,000 available (25,000 DAR per BTC)
  • Phase 2: 5000 satoshi each, 10,500,000 available (20,000 DAR per BTC)
  • Phase 3: 6000 satoshi each, 8,375,000 available (16,666.67 DAR per BTC)

In total 11,415,629 tokens were sold (all 10,000,000 of early bird and 1,414,629 of phase 1) and a total of 306.6 BTC was raised.  With a bitcoin price of 970 dollar at December 28th 2016, this equals to $297,426.

Average ICO price in BTC: ((250*2500)+(56.6*4000))/306.6 = 2777 sat

Average ICO price in $: 0.00002777 * 970 = 0.027 dollar

As only 11,415,629 of 42,000,000 tokens were sold, the total available supply was proportionally diminished to 14,055,048 by burning.

What is the reasoning for moving Darcrus from Nxt to Waves?

It is time to unify the Sigwo Technologies' tokens into a single token platform. By moving Darcrus to Waves, it will take advantage of Mercury being a base tx fee token for activities and allow for one place to store both tokens. Mercury is already a popular Waves token and is accepted by most major leasing nodes as payment, so our transactions are promptly added to the Waves blockchain. Also, their DEX is popular and faster than any others I have seen. The matcher system is unique and allows the orders to be fast.

This does not change Jupiter or the Jupiter Development Framework.

Where can I store my Darcrus and Mercury tokens?

We forked the official Waves wallet to create a Sigwo Technologies branded wallet (https://wallet.sigwo.com) which displays your Darcrus and Mercury funds on the dashboard. Besides storing your tokens, you can also directly trade from within this wallet at the Waves DEX. Of course, you could also use one of the official Waves wallets.

Here you can download a manual about the Sigwo Technologies branded wallet and how to trade at the Waves DEX.

Can I recover my wallet if I loose my seed?

No! This accounts for both the Sigwo Technologies wallet as well as the official Waves wallet.
The seed functions as a master password, it is the private key to your Waves address. If you forget your local password, you can access your wallet again by importing your seed. But if you loose both your password and your seed you will permanently loose your tokens.
So please write down your seed carefully and store it in a secure place!
